LOCAL AUTHOR/REALTOR DONATES TO HURRICANE VICTIMS!

Marietta, GA, July 29, 2005 – Marti Giacobe, real estate agent, cook and author of Beans, Bullets and Canapés, Feeding a Fighter Pilot and a Few Other Boys and Girls has donated over 1000 copies of her latest cookbook to the hurricane relief through the Salvation Army.

“As a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, I work with people everyday in making their dreams of a home come true,” said Marti. “I’ve also seen the devastation of hurricanes and the flooding they cause.”

“Cooking and enjoying a meal as a family helps in many ways getting back to some sort of normalcy after a disaster. I just wanted to do something for those families who have lost their kitchens and begin getting back to normal. When you’re evacuating, you’re not reaching for a cookbook, you’re grabbing important papers, emergency supplies and keepsakes. My book won’t ever replace a family heirloom recipe, but it does have some of my most treasured recipes.”
