About the Author:

Marti Giacobe has a long and varied background in cooking, both in the home and professionally. As the oldest of three children, kitchen chores frequently fell to her responsibility. While studying Institutional and Restaurant Management at the University of Illinois, she was the part time cook for a fraternity of 42 men and a sorority of 63 women.

As Tony and Marti traveled the world in service to their country, her passion for good food flourished. After she started her own advertising agency, she appeared as a guest chef on the live television show, “Great Day in the Morning” (KALB-TV, Alexandria, LA). She instructed American cooking lessons for Korean brides of servicemen at Osan Air Base’s “Brides School”.

She has organized food events from bring-your-own pot luck to sit- down dinners for 30, roasted whole pigs for her husband’s squadron of 75, and orchestrated a church dinner for 800. Using her vibrant sense of humor she has put together neighborhood “Ready, Set, Cook!” competitions, insisting that “food should be fun”.

When the military “road show” was over, they settled in Cobb County where they now enjoy sharing their cooking secrets with their real estate clients as they help people from all over the area buy and sell their homes.
